New tree planting dates have been announced by the Essex Forest Initiative, which is backed by Essex County Council.
In October 2019, Essex County Council (ECC) committed to planting £1 million worth of trees over the following five years. This is the equivalent of 375,000 trees.
So far, over 240,000 trees have been planted as part of the scheme, which helps to combat climate change, improve air quality and encourage biodiversity in Essex.
Planting events will take place this winter from November through to late January 2024, starting at Marsh Farm in Basildon on Tuesday, 7 November.
Further planting days are planned throughout the winter in Colchester, Basildon, Kelveden, Loughton, Ardleigh and Hatfield Peverel.
