The amazing artwork, Gaia, will be on display at Chelmsford Cathedral this October. The exhibition will be open to the public starting the 12th of October and every day until the 30th.

This is the perfect chance for you to experience the world as never before and participate in one of the many events hosted inside the Cathedral.

Gaia is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. It measures six metres in diameter and was created from 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface. You can see our planet as never before, as it slowly revolves in the nave of Chelmsford Cathedral, accompanied by a surround-sound composition by BAFTA award winning composer Dan Jones.

Gaia is open to visitors during the day and on selected evenings. During this time, you can also admire some of the interactive displays put together by different environmental and eco organisations, including one from Essex County Council.

The Essex County Council Climate Action Challenge Fund is a £500,000 fund available until the 23rd of March and which offers grants up to 20,000 to support voluntary and community activities tackling key climate issues in the county.
