Coming soon this spring is a pioneering new app which will help us all to cut our carbon footprint and mitigate the effects of climate change. 

The Carbon Cutting Essex App, developed for Essex County Council by Greenredeem, will provide many practical and cost-effective suggestions on how we can all make small changes to reduce our carbon footprint.

From swapping our cars for more sustainable forms of travel such as walking and cycling and reducing our energy consumption in our homes and at work, there is lots we can do. There are hundreds of changes which we can build into our daily lifestyles to help reduce our carbon footprint. These small changes can all add up to make a substantial impact in reducing carbon emissions. As well as reducing our impact on the environment, many of these actions can also help us to save money during the cost-of-living crisis.

Each month, the app will focus on a variation of themes around climate action, such as food, waste, transport and energy. Positive environmental actions which mitigate our carbon footprint will be rewarded with ‘carbon credits.’

We all have an important role to play in protecting the future of our planet. The new app is an excellent way for us to calculate our carbon footprint and learn how we can all take action to reduce it. This is exciting news, and we look forward to welcoming the arrival of the new Carbon Cutting Essex App in coming months!
